What is RETScreen
RETScreen, which stands for Renewable-energy and Energy-efficiency Technology Screening software, the RETScreen® Clean Energy Management Software platform enables low-carbon planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
2
A Canadian System
Since 1998, the Government of Canada’s RETScreen Clean Energy Management Software has been used for clean energy project analysis and implementation by governments, companies, and academic institutions around the globe. It is a unique decision support tool that can be used to compare different sources of energy by evaluating energy costs and savings, emissions reductions and the financial viability of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies.

Where is RETScreen being used
RETScreen is currently available in 36 languages and has over 465,000 users worldwide, including at least 54,000 users in the United States and over 5,600 users in Mexico. To date, RETScreen has helped users save a cumulative total of well over $8 billion.

RETScreen Expert
The next generation of the RETScreen software, called RETScreen Expert, has been developed by the Government of Canada’s Department of Natural Resources Canada in collaboration with key international and national organizations, including the United States’ National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This advanced new version of the software accelerates access to clean energy and allow a broad range of clean energy stakeholders to quickly identify, assess, optimize and track the performance of clean energy investments over an entire project life-cycle

What are our thoughts?
RETScreen is a Canadian creation to assist in the development of clean energy modeling to foster a green future for Canadians.
As Canada transitions to lower-emission buildings and power saving systems, Green Buffalo believes Indigenous communities are uniquely positioned to lead and educate on the importance of clean fuels and environmental stewardship. Their deep-rooted connection to the land and traditional knowledge offers invaluable insights into sustainable practices. By empowering Indigenous communities, Green Buffalo aims to foster leadership and innovation in the clean energy sector, ensuring that the transition to a net-zero future is inclusive and beneficial for all.
